Soroptimist name November Girls of the Month

Soroptimist International of Grand Prairie recognized Girls of the Month for November at a ceremony held Saturday.

Soroptimist recognizes outstanding high school and middle school students each month.

November Girls of the Month:

Rachel Doan, Truman Middle School - In the National Junior Honor Society, orchestra, Earth Force and a student helper. Principal Charles Lester wrote – “Rachel has a most amiable disposition. She is to be commended for maintaining high ethical standards. Hard work and dedication are evident in all she does plus she has a very infectious smile.”

Jordan Davis, Reagan Middle School – Involved in Student Council, Yearbook committee, cheerleading and competition theatre arts.

Ana Ponce, Lee Middle School – In the National Junior Honor Society, band, advanced arts, and volunteers in athletics concession stands. Principal Susanna Ramirez wrote – “Ana’s commitment to daily excellence is what makes her an outstanding leader for our campus.”

Melonie Calderon, Kennedy Middle School – In the National Junior Honor Society and commended on TAKS. Principal John Walsh wrote – “Melonie exceeds in everything that she does.”
Rebecca Bishop, Jackson Middle School – In the National Junior Honor Society and a cheerleader. Principal Michael Brinkley wrote – “She is a very good student who sets high standards for herself. She is well liked by both teachers and her classmates.”

Rocio Avila, Arnold Middle School – Involved in volleyball, basketball and Ballet Folklorico. Principal Raymond Edwards wrote – “Rocio is a great student that always goes the extra mile and never complains. She always puts forth the maximum effort and truly cares about learning.”

Joyce Machado, Adams Middle School – In the National Junior Honor Society and the Student Council. Principal MeShelley White wrote – “Joyce is a very quiet student. She is very responsible and respectful.”

Brennan Tice, Grand Prairie High School – Involved in varsity basketball, President of National Honor Society, Student Council and a Great Texas Scholar. Teacher Brenda Fox wrote – “Brennan is an exceptional student, she gets involved and is a determined and giving young lady.”

Elizabeth White, South Grand Prairie High School – In the Student Council, Student Empowerment Team, National Honor Society, and Fellowship of Christian Athletes. Principal Donna Grant wrote – “Elizabeth is very outgoing, warm, caring and nice to everyone. She is an extremely dedicated worker.”
