Today Newspapers to cease publishing

The Dallas Morning News and Pegasus News both published reports on its web sites Thursday that the Today Newspapers publishes its last edition Thursday and the newspaper will be shutting down Friday.

Today Newspapers publishes two weekly editions, one for Cedar Hill, DeSoto, Duncanville and Lancaster, the other for Grand Prairie.

The paper’s web site has been stripped of all news articles, archives and e-mail contacts. On its blog is a July 2 entry that states:
“Goodbye, Farewell and Amen…
R.I.P. Today Newspapers, formerly Suburban Publishers, Inc.”

The doors to the paper’s office were locked Thursday and there was no notice posted on the outside. A voice mail message was left at the Today Newspaper requesting information about the closing. At the time of this writing that phone call has not been returned.

Comments

A sad day.I truly enjoyed this paper. It is a commentary of the times that we get much of our content from the world wide web. The Today Newspaper will be missed by me and many Grand Prairians.
