City of Grand Prairie’s Independence Day schedule
In observance of Independence Day, the City of Grand Prairie administrative offices will be closed Friday, July 3. Other city services affected Independence Day weekend are:
- Garbage Collection/Recycling – as scheduled July 3; no collection July 4.
- Landfill – open July 3; closed July 4.
- Main Library – closed July 3, 4 and 5 (Items may be renewed online at library.gptx.org)
- Betty Warmack Branch Library – closed July 3, 4 and 5 (Items may be renewed online at library.gptx.org)
- Bowles Life Center Branch Library – closed July 3, 4 and 5 (Items may be renewed online at library.gptx.org)
- Recreation centers and Senior Center – closed July 3 and July 4.
- City Pools Open for the summer:
- Kirby Creek Indoor Pool – 10 a.m.-1 p.m. lap swim; 1 p.m.-6 p.m. open swim
- McFalls, Bowles and Tyre Pools – 1 p.m.-6 p.m. open swim.
- Charley Taylor Splash Factory – 1 p.m.-6 p.m. open swim.
- Animal Shelter – closed July 3 and 4.
- Tourist Information Center – open 9 a.m.-5 p.m. July 3 and 4.
- Prairie Lakes Golf Course – open.
- Tangle Ridge Golf Club – open.
- Water bill payment offices – closed July 3 and July 4. (Payments may be made online or over the phone at 972-237-4545.).
