Two arrested during burglary spree
Grand Prairie police arrested two suspects in connection with a string of Tuesday morning burglaries in the northwest section of the city.
Police were called to the 900 block of Cook Drive around 9:30 a.m., Tuesday after a witness reporting seeing two suspects place garbage bags filled with video games by the street. Officers determined the videos were from a burglary of a residence in the 900 block of Cook Drive.
Officers also learned the suspects were in the Terrace View Apartments located in 600 block of West Tarrant. There they located Edgar Valdespino, 25, and Fernando Perez, 25, both of Grand Prairie hiding in bedrooms of an apartment.
Property found in the apartment linked Valdespino and Perez to additional burglaries that occurred in the 700 block of NW 7th Street and the 600 block of Hill Street. A total of 97 video games were recovered along with game systems and various computer components.
Grand Prairie Police spokesman Detective John Brimmer said Valdespino and Perez were currently being held in the Grand Prairie Jail on charges of Burglary of a Habitation.
