City Council visits Uptown
Marshall Warder, Project Manager, and Elspeth McDonald, Uptown Theater Managing Director, guided members of the Grand Prairie City Council through the Uptown Theater Tuesday for a first hand look at the progress of the theater’s renovation.
McDonald said the exterior will retain its historic look, but there will be a complete new interior, not just a refurbishing of the old theater. Inside will be complete with state-of-the-art sound and lighting systems, comfortable seating and additional space for a variety of activities, she said.
The Uptown Theater will be open by year’s end and currently plans are being made for a gala grand opening celebration, McDonald said.
