YMCA shooting suspect captured

Early Wednesday morning Fort Worth police arrested a suspect in Monday’s shooting outside the Grand Prairie YMCA.

Rheashad Lamar Lott, 20, was arrested about 4:00 a.m. by Fort Worth police while committing a theft.

Earlier Grand Prairie police had issued an Aggravated Assault arrest warrant for Lott after investigators developed him as a suspect in the Memorial Day shooting.

Detective John Brimmer, Grand Prairie police spokesman, said Lott is currently being held in the Mansfield Detention Center and will be arraigned on the assault charge Wednesday morning.

The 17 year-old victim of the shooting remains in very serious condition, he said.
