Police offense reporting now online

Citizens can now file certain types of offense reports from the comfort of their own computer screens in Grand Prairie thanks to a new online police reporting system on the Grand Prairie Police Web site at www.grandprairiepolice.org. The primary stipulation for submitting a report online is that there are no known suspects. The types of incidents that may be reported online include: harassing phone calls, identity theft, lost property, theft up to $1,500, vandalism to vehicles, vandalism to property and vehicle burglaries.

“The online option adds convenience to the process for citizens, allowing them to submit a police report immediately and print a copy for free,” Sgt. Randy Isbell, Criminal Investigations Bureau, said. “It’s a beneficial service to citizens and we hope it will reduce the workload on our officers at the same time.”
