City hosts Memorial Day service Monday
Grand Prairie will host a Memorial Day service Monday to honor the men and women that have made the ultimate sacrifice for our freedom. It is to be held at the Veteran’s Memorial which is located behind the Senior Citizen Center, 925 Conover Drive.
The service begins at 10:00 a.m. and includes:
- Bagpipe processional
- 21 gun salute
- Color guards
- Vintage aircraft flyover
- Free memorial begonias
A screening of previous Veterans Day and Memorial Day videos, a photo display of the veterans inscribed on the Memorial columns and a free All-American lunch will be at the Senior Center after the service.
The Memorial Day Service is presented by the Grand Prairie Parks and Recreation Department, Metro Rotary Club of Grand Prairie, Grand Prairie Rotary Club and the Grand Prairie Memorial Gardens and Mausoleum.
