AirHogs get own brew

On opening night at Quick Trip Ballpark, the Grand Prairie AirHogs will offer thirsty baseball fans a special brew, Hog Tail beer.

Rahr & Sons Brewery, the award winning brewery in Fort Worth, makes the craft blonde larger named in honor of the AirHogs baseball team.

Tony Formby, Managing Partner for Rahr & Sons, said the beer has won two U. S. Beer Tasting Championship awards.  He said Hog Tail will only be available on tap and its  taste is between the common light beers popular today and darker ale.  Fans will enjoy the beer’s refreshing taste during warm weather of baseball season, Formby said.

“We are very excited about offering our own brand of beer,” AirHogs’ General Manager David Burke said.  “The AirHogs are one of the few minor league ball clubs in the country to have their own beer.”

Minor league baseball is about the community, offering a locally brewed beer helps build the community, Burke said.
