2 sought in credit union robbery
Grand Prairie police and the FBI are investigating the Thursday afternoon armed robbery of the Resource One Credit Union, 3824 S. Carrier Pkwy.
Employees told police that around 4:45 p.m. two men armed with silver colored handguns entered the bank, approached a teller, and demanded money.
The branch manager came to the counter and led the suspects to a safe where the suspects removed some cash and put it into the plastic trash bags.
As the suspects fled out the door one tripped, almost falling. He lost one of his shoes, dropped the trash bag with cash, and accidentally discharged his handgun. Both suspects stopped and picked up most of the cash that came out, stuffing it into their pants pockets. They left the trash bag and a “black fur” shoe behind.
A witness who was outside the bank when the robbers came out, told investigators he saw the suspects escape in a late model, silver Dodge Charger that was parked west of the building.
Police recovered the shoe, a plastic bag and one shell casing and are currently reviewing the security video.
The suspects are described as:
