U. S. Marshal Strike Team arrests murder suspect
A Strike Team of officers from the Dallas Police Department and Dallas County Sheriffs Department along with Deputy U. S. Marshals arrested Eric Christopher Hodges Tuesday in Alvarado, Texas. Hodges is a suspect in Sunday’s murder of taxi cab driver Lois Jean Ivory, 53, of DeSoto who was found shot to death in her cab in the 100 block of West Dorris Drive, Grand Prairie.
Grand Prairie Police requested the assistance of the Dallas Fort Worth Fugitive Apprehension Strike Team (DFWFAST) in locating and arresting Hodges after they developed him as a suspect. The Strike Team determined Hodges fled Grand Prairie and was staying in Alvarado. After locating Hodges at 9612 Gina Lane, the Strike Team arrested him around 1:30 p.m. He was transported to Grand Prairie and turned over to police.
Since the establishment of DFWFAST in January 2004, the Strike Team has arrested over 7,300 violent fugitives. DFWFAST is a diverse task force consisting of local, state, and federal law enforcement agencies from the Dallas and Fort Worth area. DFW FAST was established to assist local, state, and federal agencies in the apprehension of fugitive felons.
