Suspect faces Capital Murder charge
Eric Christopher Hodges is scheduled to be arraigned Wednesday morning on a charge of Capital Murder for the death of taxi cab driver Lois Jean Ivory of DeSoto.
On Sunday Ivory’s body was found sitting in her cab in the 100 block of West Dorris Drive. She had sustained at least one gun shot wound.
Sergeant Alan Patton of the Grand Prairie Police Department said Hodges was interviewed by investigators after a U. S. Marshal Strike Team arrested him Tuesday in Alvarado. During the interview Hodges admitted he shot and killed Ivory during a robbery attempt.
Sergeant Patton praised the efforts of the U. S. Marshal’s Strike Team for quickly locating and arresting Hodges before he could flee the area.
Investigators are filing the Capital Murder charge on Hodges with the Dallas District Attorney, Sergeant Patton said.
