Jason Yeager will sing National Anthem at AirHogs home opener
The Grand Prairie AirHogs have announced that former American Idol contestant Jason Yeager will sing the National Anthem at the team’s inaugural home opener on Friday, May 16.
“It is fitting that we have a native of Grand Prairie kicking off our first game by singing the National Anthem,” said General Manager Dave Burke. “Jason has tremendous talent and will be another great piece of our opening night festivities.”
Yeager, 28, grew up in Grand Prairie. He rose to national prominence by appearing on the seventh season of American Idol. Jason outlasted thousands of hopefuls and made it into the final 20.
Jason will be appearing before the game on the main concourse to sign autographs and sell his CDs.
The Grand Prairie AirHogs’ inaugural American Association baseball season starts on May 8, 2008. The home opener will take place on Friday, May 16, against the Wichita Wingnuts at QuikTrip Park at Grand Prairie. For season and group ticket information, contact the AirHogs at (972) 504-9383.
