Heavy rainfall expected through the weekend
A cold front will slide south across North Texas late tonight into early Saturday with temperatures expected to drop into the 30s and 40s behind the front. Some light rainfall is expected on Friday... but the heavier rainfall is expected by early Saturday as the upper level storm system approaches.
Widespread rain and embedded thunderstorms will develop late Friday night and persist across the region through the day Saturday. Some areas of North Texas could receive 2 to 4 inches of rainfall through Saturday night. In addition, some of the storms Saturday along and south of Interstate 20 could become strong to severe with large hail and frequent lightning.
