High winds hamper firefighters

It took Grand Prairie firefighters almost an hour to put out a large grass fire in the 1700 block of East Marshall near the Lockheed Martin facility Tuesday around 12:30 p.m.

The high winds Tuesday hampered the twenty-four firefighters it took to put out the fire. 

Grand Prairie firefighters are shrouded in smoke as they fight to contain a grass fire in the 1700 block of East Marshall.  It took firefighters about an hour to put out the 2 larm fire that was fanned by Tuesday afternoon's high winds.   ©Bob Fitch - 2008/All rights reserved
