A day on, not a day off
The celebration begins Monday morning at 10:00 a.m with a parade starting at Daniels Elementary Academy and concluding at Grand Prairie High School followed by a program inside Grand Prairie High School gym which features Donovan Lewis, The Ticket Sportsradio, as the keynote speaker.

- Angela Lucky, President NAACP Grand Prairie Branch
- Sterlin McGruder, Principal David Daniels Academy
- Rev. Preston Dixon, Pastor Mt. Gilead Baptist Church
- Robert Palmer, President NAACP Grand Prairie Branch Youth Council
- Step Team Performers of Jackson Middle School will perform.
The Grand Prairie NAACP Branch MLK Celebration Committee invites business, community and civic organizations to participate in the parade and other events planned to celebrate the birthday and the legacy of Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. School groups such as bands, choirs, cheerleaders and other organizations are all invited to walk or ride in the MLK parade and participate in the program.
