Preliminary designs of new police center

Courtsey City of Grand Prairie

The City of Grand Prairie released images of the preliminary designs for the new police center which will be located at State Highway 161 and Warrior Trail.

The 130,00 square foot center is nearly three times the size of the existing Lyndon King center located at 801 Conover.

The new facility will house both Police and Fire Administration along with Police/Fire communications and jail facilities.  Funding for the building is through a voter approved 1/4 cent sales tax.  Construction is set to begin in 2008 with a grand opening in 2010.
